Flea Comb

Flea comb and a good bath is your pet’s first line of defense against fleas. Though time consuming, combing helps reduce the need for insecticides.

Flea comb have fine teeth that remove adult fleas and eggs from fur. Most dogs and cats seem to enjoy this treatment.

Here is how you can make use of a flea comb to help reduce the flea population on your dog or cat:

1. Firstly, find a quiet place and make your dog or cat feels comfortable. Get ready a bowl of soapy water and put it next to you. 
2. Using the flea comb, starts combing through the fur coat of your dog or cat. 
3. Pay particular attention to the face and neck and the area just in front of the tail. These are areas that fleas are frequently found. 
4. The flea comb will remove both the adult fleas as well as eggs that are present on the fur. 
5. Dip the flea comb into the bowl of soapy water. Fleas will be killed by the soapy water. 
6. Repeat the combing session several times a day if possible to remove as many fleas from your pet as possible.

There are many flea combs available in the market and price can range from a few dollars to thirty or forty dollars. Both dog flea combs  and cat flea combs are available and the choice is very much dependent on the length of the fur. You can find a wide selection of flea combs here.

One of the latest flea comb available in the market now is the Flea Zapper Comb.  This can be use on many coat type and for both dogs and cats. It is by far, the only comb available in the market that can kill fleas through a small current but is safe for the pet.

  However, take note that flea comb will never rid your pet of flea since flea larvae may also be in bedding, furniture and carpet. It is, however, a useful way to keep an eye on the flea population, and if used as a preventive measure can keep them in check. If you have a major flea infestation, you will have to get rid of most of them before you can use just a comb on your pet.
